Hope

To say that at least we have hope seems like a futile cliche
when everything is burning around us
but perhaps the embers mean that all that is old is burning away
and something new will sprout from the ground to enshroud us with ideas to inspire us to climb a little further
to dream a little bolder
Perhaps hope is a comforting, soft rain, mercy on scorched hearts and souls
Maybe it will show us that the seemingly impossible can be within our reach
